Position Description
An opportunity for a person possessing a BS Degree in Manufacturing Engineering or a related engineering degree to work with a fast paced small-sized company which manufactures electronic and mechanical hardware for the defense industry.
Job Description: Common Processes
- Manufacturing Engineer (ME) responsible for all aspects of development, documentation, work instructions, and production support from concept through sustaining activities
- Will interface with design, process engineering, production engineering, operations and program management
- Will provide production analysis on PCB, PCBA and mechanical designs
- Will assist production teams in meeting production goals through day to day production support and process improvements
- Will be involved in proposal development activities such as developing basis of estimate (BOE)
- Will work with suppliers to verify their manufacturing processes and products
- Will make disposition, as a member of material review board, or discrepant material – manufactured and purchased
Required Skills or Experience:
- Production processes and specifications associated with electronic and mechanical production and manufacturing, preferably in the defense industry environment
- Designing or maintaining manufacturing processes and associated documentation.
- Strong problem solving capabilities and advanced computer skills
- Product development and guiding electronics through product development life cycle
- Bill of Material (BOM) maintenance, engineering change affectivity and product configuration management
- Ability to communicate with venders and internal personnel
- PCB and PCBA manufacturing process using high density SMT
- PCBA mechanical housing design
- Electronic component purchasing
- Knowledge of RF and Flex PCB materials
- Knowledge of schematic and PCB layout CAD software
- Knowledge of IPC and ANSI Standards
- Knowledge of ISO-9001:2008 procedures
